[Eric] Paint It Black

Hi Detlev,

I'm trying to get the shell to cooperate in painting the entire
background black. Only the current caret line and it's predecessors
are correctly painted, but below the caret line is white.

I was able to paint the margins, fold, and editor background through
the various (ported) Scintilla widget & lexer calls. The stylesheet
also works for them, but nothing seems to work for the shell's "paper"
(TextEdit) background

Do have any idea how I can make this happen?
