I am having a problem somewhat like that but I am using linux
(Kubuntu). Eric4 used to work well (4-4.3).
I was trying to use Qt API and the way I choose to solve that was to
install the latest SIP (4.7.9) and PyQt4 (4.4.4) in order to generate
the PyQt4.api.
After installed the above I start receiveing the following messages
after the splash:

Warning: translation file 'eric4_pt_BR'could not be loaded.
Using default.
Warning: translation file 'qscintilla_pt_BR'could not be loaded.
Using default.
QVariant::load: unable to load type 36.
QVariant::load: unable to load type 36.
QVariant::load: unable to load type 36.
QVariant::load: unable to load type 36.
QVariant::load(QDataStream &s): type unknown to QVariant.

and eric crashes (even had installed the
eric4-4.3-snapshot-20081130). The Qt version is 4.4.0

It this problem related or I have to open another thread ? I am
running out of ideas to solve it.

Tks in advance,
