I just changed to Python 2.6 shortly and had a strange encounter once. Due to 
the fact, that Python 2.6 doesn't introduce backward incompatible changes, 
eric4 should work with Python 2.6. However, libraries written in C/C++, which 
are used by eric could have problems.
