This could be caused by two reasons.

1. Ubuntu (and maybe Debian) calls the executable designer-qt4. If that is the 
case, you must put '-qt4' in the postfix configuration option (see Qt page).

2. If you are using Qt 4.5 than this problem is caused by a change of the 
format of the .ui file. This causes the automatic version detection routine 
to fail. This incompatibility will be fixed in the next release.
