Hi,

thanks for the little example. See below for my response. The problem is not 
eric4 but the pylupdate4 tool used by eric4.

This seems to be a pylupdate4 problem. The empty docstring in line 165 of 
main.py causes it to not recognise translatable strings thereafter. Please 
report this problem to Phil-

lupdate-qt4 does not handle Python source code. The output of this tool is 
irrelevant.
