[Eric] How to disable Log Viewer

I have eric 4.3.7.1 installed on my system and I have had one annoyance with 
it for as long as I can. The log-viewer always insists on showing it's output 
even if I any of the other outputs selected in the horizontal toolbox.

I've look into the preferences and the only option for the log-viewer is the 
stderr colour. How do I disable it entirely or prevent the focus grab?
