That means, that the rope completions take precedence. Maybe these are wrong. 
Unfortunately rope is a third-party package. You should post a report on the 
rope development list.

Alternatively you download the eric assistant plug-in, which is another 
autocompletion and calltips provider. Make sure to disable the rope provider. 
I prefer the assistant one.
