Windows is case insensitive but case preserving. That could lead to the 
situation, that you enter a path manually with all lower case (e.g. for the 
project file) and the file path of e.g. __init__.py might be mixed case. This 
could lead to the situation observed by you. 

I found a situation win eric5, where this can happen and fixed it. Please try 
the code from the source repository (no installation required, just run python 
eric5.py after an initial python compileUi.py).
