[Eric] Git support: Plugin respository not accessable...

Hello,

I'm running Eric4 v4.4.8 and when attempting to browse for plugins in
the repo I was told to update, but then when I did I got the following
error:

http://die-offenbachs.homelinux.org/eric/plugins/repository.xml

Also, what is the status on Git support for Eric4? The latest posts I
saw on the issue dated back a couple of years. Is there a Plugin for Git
support?
