[Eric] Spanish Character problems since version 5.4.0 (Gustavo A. D?az)

Hi,
I can maybe try that tomorrow. I guess that I'll download the latest
snapshot and compile/install it in an isolated virtual machine.
If there are no dependency issues I should be able to find soon whether it
is properly working or not.
