Again, thanks for all the help. On Redhat 7.2, I changed the Spec
file from the qt3-3.0.0-1.src.rpm from rawhide to compile all the styles
into the main library and not do them as plug-ins. I then recompiled the
source rpm for python-2.1.1-3. I installed both sets of rpm's and then
moved python and python1.5 from /usr/bin out of the way. I copied
python2 to python before I built rpms of Sip and PyQt. After they were
installed, I moved the original python back to /usr/bin. I now have a
system with postgresql and PyQt that will once and for all drop me out
of the VB and MSACCESS nightmare.
Although I have a lot to learn, python seems to be as easy as VB but a
lot more powerful. MSACCESS was the only Windows app I still had to use
since May 1996 and I am pretty sure it is gone now.
