Thanks Phil, that worked, and installed PyKDE 3.11.3. Now eric starts, but 
fails before showing its UI.

It seems by the traceback (see below) something to do with QScintilla. And er,
I have no eric to debug with, and if I backtrack to get a working eric, I 
wouldn't have this problem, or er, I couldn't run /this/ eric to get /this/ 
problem. So, I beg of you again o gurus, what could be happening now?
