Forgot to add earlier: You may want to provide a simple reimplentation
of QListViewItem to not activate the Multiline stuff if somebody puts a
multi-MB String into a variable. Might be not so funny for users.

That shouldn't be too hard either, __init__ and setText() should be
enough to provide that.
