[PyKDE] "import sip" yields "bus error" on intel mac

hi!

i just installed sip 4.4.5 on an intel mac running 10.4.8 through  
darwinports/macports.

install went fine, but i get the following error:

Python 2.4.3 (#1, Aug 31 2006, 16:26:13)
[GCC 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5250)] on darwin
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
 >>> import sip
Bus error


is there anything i could try to do about this?
