re[PyQt] alize an images gallery - It's possible?

Hi, I need to realize a simple  images gallery linked to a program (Qgis)
that use Qt ad pyQt into the GUI programming process.

What's the right class to diplay images with Qt? 
It' a good idea using pyQt to realize an images gallery?
Please, can you give me somes suggestions or opinions before I begin my pyQt
adventure.
