It seems to be peculiar, whatever I do i cannot seem to compile QtGui... QtCore is installed ok as well as a number of its useless friends, QtXml, QtWebkit, QtNetwork etc. even when after compiling and building PyQt4 in consolidated mode (- g) python can never find QtGui and can always find QtCore (others are not needed). many thanks mike
