[PyQt] help me with listwidget

hi

i have few strings entered to a listwidget.
now i want the selected string from listwidget but the returned item from
listwidget using Qlistwidget.Item()
 method is Qwidgetitem. how can i cant the string itself from the
listwidget.
it is very urgent.
pls help.
any help appreciated.
