If you like to experiment you might like to try out Xpresser
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Xpresser). The idea is based on SIKULI (see
screencasts at http://groups.csail.mit.edu/uid/sikuli/).
For Xpresser there is a branch is branch which does not depend on Gtk
but works with PyQt fine. There is also a branch which works on
Windows (see https://code.launchpad.net/xpresser).
