It works fine for me too, *if* the prog. is launched from Eric4, 
 (Os Linux Mint 9). 

From CLI the dialog is:

ak at supremo ~ $ ./segmentation.py 
Qt version :  4.6.2
PyQt version :  4.7.2
Segmentation fault
