[PyQt] updating PyQt5 when compiling from source

I've been using PyQt for awhile, installing either from binary 
installers or pip, but recently I've started working with the source 
code. I was just wondering if when I upgrade with a newer 
release/snapshot, do I need to remove/uninstall the previous version or 
will running the normal "configure, make, make install" steps be enough 
to do it? Thanks.
