[Eric] newbie in linux, python and eric4 - nothing happen when trying to run python script

hello,

im a newbie in linux, pyhon and eric4.

i've installed eric4, but when i try to run python script, nothing happen.
i can run the same python script via terminal with no problem.

when running eric4, i got following warning:
DEBUG:root:Importing Preferences
Warning: translation file 'qt_en_US'could not be loaded.
Using default.
Warning: translation file 'eric4_en_US'could not be loaded.
Using default.
Warning: translation file 'qscintilla_en_US'could not be loaded.
Using default.


i tried to read the mailing list archive and the technical report
document on eric website, but seems no luck.
is there any preference setting that i done wrong?
