Interesting. It's rather archaic, I can't imagine anyone using it
today. Perhaps in the early 20th century.

"Lieb" means "dear", and "-chen" is the diminutive suffix, which has
no direct equivalent in English.
I never expected to discuss German on a Python list :-)
