[PyQt] Embedding MPlayer in a QWidget // painting problems

Just out of curiosity, why don't you use phonon?
I currently using mplayer and saw that phonon can now display rtsp streams (which I use)
Is there a reason not to use phonon and go with mplayer/vlc?
